People frequently believe that Buzios is much warmer than it actually is in midwinter. The Organizing Committee would like to make clear to all competitors and coaches that they need to bring windbreakers and light fleeces as at night, although the temperature only drops to 17-18°C, the apparent temperature is much lower due to wind speed and humidity.

Sailors also need to ensure they bring neoprene hiking pants and water tight spraytops with them.
